Believe In YourselfI remember at school the teacher saying to me in frustration: "I can't learn it for you!" While the incident is forgotten, the words are clear in my mind. This principle of do-it-yourself is also true in finding our path with heart. The process of healing is simple and straightforward, yet it is not always easy, and the only real motivation we have to keep moving is the belief in ourselves. So, let's believe in ourselves. No one can eat food for you, breathe for you or think for you. In the same way, no one can believe for you. This may sound obvious, yet think about it for a moment. You may think you believe in yourself, yet do you believe deeply enough? Do you believe in self-loving and self-accepting ways? Are your conscious beliefs the same as your secret ones? I ask the questions because we are simultaneously our own best friend and worst enemy. The quality of our subconscious beliefs determine which one (friend or foe) we practice the most. I talk somewhere else about always getting up one more time than falling down. It is the energy of our belief in ourselves that translates into the strength to get up off the floor. We are never given a problem bigger than we can handle, and as you tread your path with heart, you will surprise and delight yourself at how strong you really are. It may be that, as a child, it was drilled into you how weak you were, or unworthy, or whatever. This is only someone else's opinion. It is not a universal truth. No matter how negative we feel about ourselves, somewhere inside we know the truth of our unique preciousness. Search around until you find it - and you will find it. Now you have something no one can ever take away from you. The belief in yourself and the knowledge of your birthright, which is to be as happy as you make up your mind to be. Next article...
