Do The ThingRalph Waldo Emerson said "Do The Thing, and You Shall Have the Power." When I read the words I was struck by how opposite they sound in relation to how most of us set about getting what we want. I sat around waiting for the power to come before I would be able to do the thing, not realizing I had it backwards. Since motion is the basis for physical reality, it is the basis for getting what you want from life. Knowing this, of course, doesn't make it easier to move against the fear or feeling stuck. Susan Jeffers wrote a great book called "Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway." There is a powerful affirmation of ownership contained in motion. Moving even an inch against an issue creates an awesome counter force of healing and goodness. You see, fear creates paralysis, and motion is the opposite of this. Your body cannot deny the evidence of its own senses, so as you experience yourself moving, a new reality based on choice and power is created within you. Where you are headed isn't as important as the fact you are moving. Let life take a hand in helping you out, and you will be pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Moving opens up opportunities from another dimension, as it were. People, places, experiences, knowledge, all sorts of happenings take place that otherwise would not have come to pass. When I write these articles, the words come from someplace, and I seldom have to pause for long before the next sentence arrives. If I write, words appear, if I don't write, then obviously nothing happens. My point is that motion connects you to another dimension of manifestation, just as driving your car down the road takes you to the next town. So, whatever you want to do, start doing it. Even actively thinking about it is motion. It's an interesting fact that whether a person moves in the face of fear or not, the feelings are of the same intensity. If fear turns to paralysis, then you need to move on healing the cause of the paralysis first. Remember, you are paralyzing yourself. It isn't being done to you. Nobody else is controlling your body, thoughts or feelings. It is the precious child inside you who is afraid to move, so you need to apply liberal doses of acceptance, compassion and non-judgment to yourself, and bring that beautiful inner child home to your heart. Do the thing and have the power. Next article...
