A Trusting SoulBehind the solidness of physical reality, there is another invisible, silent and yet tangible layer of reality. Trust is a big part of the healing journey, and trust has to be based on something you feel comfortable with, and which also has roots in a larger reality. Maybe there isn't much in the physical world you feel trustful of. If so, then you need to find a trustful place you can anchor yourself to as you heal back into life. This invisible layer of reality is where your dreams, intuition and inner life flow from. It is always there, always loving, gentle, accepting, benevolent, supportive - a source of strength and protection for you. Sounds too good to be true? If so, move that misconception out of your life. Nothing is too good to be true and nothing is too good to last. This layer of reality is, for our present purposes, where your soul resides. I've mentioned before that soul is completely untouched by anything that has physically, mentally or emotionally happened to you, or you may have done to yourself. From this invisible reality, where the roots of your existence lie, you can draw energy, strength and courage. Healing has to start somewhere, and this means letting go of the control mindset you have used to keep yourself safe. I suggest you start or expand your healing efforts by allowing yourself openness to the idea I am presenting here. Of course, letting go is a gradual process, not a quantum leap from one place to another. Start loosening your grip by allowing yourself to quietly move inward, moving inside yourself a step at a time. All the while, think of yourself of having a soul living in your heart. Think of your soul as your personal connection to this invisible layer of reality I am talking about. Instead of trying to make sense of what I am expressing here, trust there is something worthwhile to the concept. Even if all you see or feel when you look inward is darkness, hurt or confusion, look anyway. And keep looking. There is nothing inside except yourself. Being you hasn't killed you yet, so it certainly won't now. Think of it this way: you have a direct line to that place where happiness, joy, love, fun, curiosity, laughter and all things wonderful come from. You'll feel the connection soon enough. First it is a glimmer, then a steadily increasing stream. And before you know it - a new trust has appeared for you. Don't take my word for it... - trust yourself to give it a whirl. Next article...
