Prosperity is about OpportunityThere is an old belief that "Opportunity only knocks once." Well, opportunity is knocking at our door 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Most of us though, prefer to label opportunity knocking as a "problem." This comes back to the idea of us moving through life with an over inflated sense of self-importance on the one hand, and the unawareness of our true nature on the other. Carlos Castenada had this problem when he was learning from Don Juan, the Yaqui sorcerer. While opportunity is an ever occurring part of life, it is also subject to metaphysical law. Energy follows thought, so if we believe that opportunity will keep coming to us, then it will, and come even more so, because we are pulling it to ourselves by virtue of our belief. Conversely, if we believe opportunity knocks only once, or doesn't knock at all, then we tend to push it away from ourselves. Opportunity is still knocking at the door. We simply have chosen not to see or hear it. For all practical purposes, it has ceased to exist for us. It is easy to see then, that opportunity is a naturally occuring process. The vital part is in how we choose to relate to it. Finding opportunity is an attitude, in the same way that finding problems is an attitude. They are the two sides of the same coin of opportunity. A big part of having real prosperity is to be open to the natural flow of opportunity that life hands us every day. [last modified 4/25/05] Next page...
