Attitudes and A Path With Heart - FAQ - A Path With HeartWhy Do So-Called Gurus End Up With Diseases Such As Cancer? We, here in the west, have been very conditioned to believe that the physical comes first, and anything else - that is, anything that can't be actually physically measured with the appropriate instrument, most likely doesn't exist. In other words, it's a figment of our imaginations. We are so steeped into the physical as being real, anything else seems not-possible. A true guru, on the other hand, understands intimately the impermanence of the physical, and is far more deeply rooted into the reality behind the physical than we are into the illusion! We all have to die. This is obvious. A true guru, understanding the illusion of physical death and the obsession that less evolved souls have with it, also knows how to transcend Karma. This is because the guru, as an ascended being, has chosen to return to the earth plane to assist others in moving forward in their spiritual growth. Oftentimes, the realized master (of either incarnated gender) has chosen, or been asked by the higher spiritual powers, to reincarnate in order to help sort out a particular bottle-neck in the evolution of mankind's progress. So they agree, and here we are. A Buddhist teaching is that when such an enlightened being chooses to take on a human disease (yes, they choose!), such as cancer, the karma of less evolved beings is expiated by up to 10,000 rebirths. I believe this, whole-heartedly. Is such a belief really any more stupid, insane, asinine and paranoid than having a nuclear powered submarine prowling around the oceans of the world, loaded with enough atomic weapons to kill millions of people - "just because"?
