Should I Change My Name?

It all depends on who you ask. My personal recommendation is no, it's not a good idea.

I look at it this way: that we live in a perfectly ordered and aware universe, the basis of which is ever-loving-kindness. Along with this, we each create our own destinies and lives. We choose the circumstances of our lives before we are born, in accordance with the Karmic issues we've decided to work through in this life time.

Therefore, part of the process of choice included the choice of names. In other words, there is nobody walking around with the wrong name for the job they're doing. It seems that most often, a person wants a name change for what seems like an easier way of dealing with an issue. There is no such thing as a cosmic free lunch, and no easier way of dealing with things. There are, however, very gentle, loving and painless ways of dealing with things.

Long before I began studying numerology, long before I even knew the subject existed, I wanted very much to change my name, especially my last name. I wanted to escape, or leave behind, the personal shame I felt was associated with being known as David Bromfield. For whatever reason, I did not ever get around to it.
