What Is Karma?

Karma is the law of cause and effect, of choices and consequences. Everything in the physical universe is subject to the law of Karma.

Karma implies action, which in turn implies a re-action, or an effect coming back in from the original, outgoing cause. It can be a very difficult and tricky thing to describe properly.

I'm describing Karma as the effects of using personal will power to make things happen in life. We can either cooperate with the universe, "go with the flow," or we can choose to ignore everything except our own needs and wants, and willfully reach out and grab things without regard for the universe and the other creatures in it.

So whenever we choose to act willfully, we create Karma, which will come to us exactly as we put it out. When and how it will come back, it isn't possible to know. Living life this way is called Samsara, or living in illusion.
