The How-to of Fadic Addition

When I first heard of "Fadic Addition," I assumed it must be complicated, since it had such a high faluting name. Well, it isn't.
The word "Fadic" probably originates from the old English word Faed, which means "to reduce." Fadic addition simply means taking a series of numbers and adding them together repeatedly until a single digit between 1 and 9 is arrived at.

Caveat - warning Fadic addition is done from left to right. For example, the number 196352 is reduced to its single digit this way: 1+9+6+3+5+2 = 26 = 2+6 = 8.

The final result in a fadic addition is usually written as 26/8 - showing that the single digit 8 came from the compound, or double digit, number of 26. This makes the final 8 distinct in that it came from 26 (2+6), as opposed to coming from 17 (1+7), or 35 (3+5), or 44 (4+4), or 53 (5+3) and so on. Even while "8" stands on its own as the final number, the double digit or "compound" number it comes from tells us a lot about the nature of the final "8."
This process holds true for all the other numbers, as well.
