Description: The figure of Justice is seated in front of two pillars, between which is stretched a veil like that in the card of The High Priestess. However, while the pillars of the High Priestess open into the realm of the subconscious, the pillars of Justice open into the super conscious, where all knowledge resides.
The figure is the personification of spiritual justice, and therefore wears no blindfold. Her crown carries three turrets and is ornamented with a square jewel. In her left hand she holds a set of scales (scales are always related to balanced judgment) In her right hand she holds a double-edged sword, which cuts two ways. This means that action is required to both penetrate matter with spirit and to inform it. Divinatory Meaning: A balanced personality. Legal issues or money matters which will have a good outcome. The elimination of useless and outworn forms of education. A mixture of the right ingredients, as in science, chemistry or cooking. May mean education, with a well-balanced mind as its goal. Reversed: Injustice, inequality, legal complications, personal bias and too much severity. |
