Numbers and the Planets

Number One - The Sun
The Sun governs spirit, will, energy, vitality, wholeness, self-integration, rulership, organization and power. It also represents the will to live.

Number Two - The Moon
The Moon rules the feminine essence, the unconscious, emotive feelings, rhythm and balance, instinctual responses (the limbic system), reflection, passivity, motherliness, the family and heredity. It also symbolizes changeability. The Moon is ruled by the numbers 2 and 7. 2=positive Moon, and 7=negative Moon.

Number Three - Jupiter
The planet Jupiter represents the ability to expand through growth and understanding.

Number Four - Earth and Sun
Four represents the Earth, and also the "negative" aspects of the Sun. The Sun is ruled by the numbers 1 and 4. 1=positive, and 4=negative.

Number Five - Mercury
The planet Mercury represents the intellect, communication, all mental and nervous system processes, dexterity, ambiguity, writing and diplomacy. Its negative aspects include lying, unreliability and weak mental processes.

Number Six - Venus
The planet Venus rules love, harmony, artistry, feminine sexuality, attraction, affection, physical beauty and art.

Number Seven - Neptune
The planet Neptune is associated with psychic activity, mediumship, dreams, fantasies, illusion, extreme sensitivity, drugged states, alcoholism, refinement and the non-material world.

Number Eight - Saturn
The planet Saturn rules melancholy, reserve, limitation, seriousness, economy, authority and the ability to accept and work with the limitations of life. Saturn is the planet of Karma.

Number Nine - Mars
In mythology, the planet Mars has always been connected with war. It indicates the inability and/or refusal to accept and work with present circumstances - and so the blind drive for change produces armed conflict.

Number Eleven - Pluto
The planet Pluto has a rather difficult symbolism to explain. It is the planet of transformation through the death of an old way of life. Pluto symbolizes the capacity to change totally and forever a person's lifestyle, way of thought, and behavior.

Number Twenty-two - Uranus
The planet Uranus rules eccentricity, invention, independence, intuition, mobility, impulsiveness and sudden and drastic change.
