The Planets and NumbersNo one really knows when number values were given to the planets. It is a complicated subject, depending on where you live and what you believe. The Hindus, ancient Egyptians, Hebrews and Chaldeans each linked a planet with a number to represent its characteristics and qualities. There is mounds of evidence to suggest that ancient astrologers knew of the existence of Uranus, which was discovered in 1781, and Neptune, discovered in 1846. They knew enough to include in their calculations the orbits for two planets which govern the mental plane of life. This was in addition to the seven planets already known to them at the time. I have no doubt that vast amounts of knowledge of the natural world have either been lost, or removed from the public eye over the course of the centuries. I have chosen what seems to be the most commonly used number and planetary "table of correspondence," and there are others in existence. No two books I've read agree fully on which numbers and planets belong together. Click below on the number you are interested in to find out more out about it.
