When two people are in a relationship, they get to know each other more deeply over time. There are some traits you don’t like and others you appreciate and value. Even if you both believe your relationship to be almost perfect, there are always areas of possible friction.

This profile helps to point out the personality traits you each have, and how compatible they are. Yet it is the little things that almost always cause friction between partners.

We also handle master numbers differently in a relationship compatibility profile. They are reduced to their single digit values, because they are typically expressed as the energy of the single digit. So if a number appears in your personal chart that is 11, or 22, and the compatibility refers to the numbers 2, or 4, this is not a mistake.

You will also find that some numbers normally included in a personal numerology reading are missing from a relationship compatibility profile.

The reason is because compatibility between two people is most strongly influenced by the 4 core numbers than by all the other numbers combined. In fact, the lesser numbers in the chart only serve to muddy the waters if they are analyzed in the context of a relationship compatibility profile.

1. Your Life Path Number
The most important number in your numerology chart is based on the date of your birth. You are a person with your own unique character. Everything that is you existed in potential before your birth, much like a unique musical piece that is about to be written. You have the freedom to do what you want to with your life. You may decide to live up to your potential, or make do with some smaller version of yourself.

The Life Path number gives you the outline of your opportunities and challenges in this lifetime. Your Life Path is the road you are traveling. It reveals the opportunities and challenges you face in life.

2. Your Expression Number
Reveals your physical and mental constitution - it describes and symbolizes the essence of the unique, one of a kind YOU. Therefore, the Expression number reveals your inner goals, the person you aim to be. The Expression number reveals the talents, abilities, and shortcomings that were with you when you entered your human body, as well as the talents and issues you will be working with during this life.

If reincarnation is part of your philosophy, the vibration of your full name can be seen as the totality of your personal evolution; the experiences, talents, and wisdom accumulated over lifetimes. Every experience, no matter how small, along this evolutionary path has influenced your development, and brought you to your current state of being.

The Expression is your being; the Life Path is the major lesson you are attempting to learn this time around. By knowing the Expression number, it is easier to understand your basic nature, and the abilities and issues that are a natural part of your being.

3. Your Heart's Desire Number
Is the inner you. It shows your underlying, spiritual urge and your true motivation. Consequently, it strongly influences the choices you make in life. The Heart's Desire is seen as part of the larger picture, called the core numbers, which are the Life Path, Expression, Day you were born, and Personality.
Each number describes a different aspect of you. The Heart's Desire vibrates to the identity of the soul that joined the earth - you, the spiritual being.

4. Your Personality Number
Is the consonants of your full name at birth. Your Personality is the part of yourself that you feel comfortable sharing at the beginning of a relationship. With time and trust, you naturally invite others into the deeper aspects of your nature. Slowly, you reveal your Heart's Desire, Expression, and so on.

Your Personality number can screen out some of the things you do not want to deal with - people or situations - yet it also welcomes those things that appeal to your inner nature.

5. Your Personal Year Number
Describes the circumstances you will experience during the year ahead. There are nine personal year numbers, which make up the cycle of 9 years. The personal year cycles of two people in a relationship show clearly the dynamics between them, and how to work with these influences.
